Crews Off Thanksgiving Day, Work Resumes Friday On State Road 37

Last updated on Wednesday, November 22, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), more than 45 million travelers are planning to hit the road this Thanksgiving holiday.

If you are one of the thousands who will travel from Bloomington to Indianapolis this holiday week, you can avoid potential delays and heavy traffic on State Road 37 by using the alternate routes of State Road 46 east to I-65 north or State Road 46 west to State Road 67 north.

If you're traveling south to Bloomington, use alternate routes of I-65 south to State Road 46 west or State Road 67 south to State Road 46 east.

Construction crews will be off on Thanksgiving Day, but lane restrictions on State Road 37 will remain in place during the holiday.

Drivers who choose to use State Road 37 between Bloomington and Martinsville are asked to eliminate all distractions behind the wheel, follow the posted 45 mph speed limit and be aware of changing traffic conditions throughout the construction zone.

INDOT wants everyone to arrive at their Thanksgiving destination safely and on time.
