(BLOOMINGTON) - City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) is pleased to announce that Laura Pettit has been named as the new Assistant Director of Finance.

Pettit is an alumna of Northwestern University and has 10 years of leadership experience in financial capacities and project management. She is moving to CBU from Indiana University, where she is the Director of Intelligent Systems Engineering Research Operations at the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering.

CBU Director Vic Kelson said, "We are excited to bring in a candidate of such high caliber. Ms. Pettit is equipped to not only handle the current workload, but she has the forward-thinking vision that is crucial to CBU's future."

Pettit will take the helm of the Finance Department at CBU, which has an annual budget of approximately $43.5 million and is responsible for $317 million in assets. The department administers accounting, billing, purchasing, collections, and customer service for the City's water, sewer and stormwater utilities. She is scheduled to start at CBU on December 4.
