Bill McFadden To Fill District 1 Seat On Bedford City Council

Last updated on Thursday, November 16, 2017

(BEDFORD) - Bill McFadden was appointed by Lawrence County Democrat Party Chairman Matthew Ray to fill the District 1 seat on the Bedford City Council.

McFadden's term will run through Dec. 19, 2019. He was appointed because the party didn't have enough eligible individuals to call a caucus to fill the seat.

The seat was left vacant after the recent death of Patrick Robbins.

At McFadden's request Patrick's brother, Judge Michael Robbins swore McFadden into office at Tuesday's night council meeting.

McFadden retired in May from Hoosier Hills Credit Union where he severed as vice president of commercial member services. He is also a member of the Bedford Board of Zoning Appeals and has held positions on the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council, Bedford Public Library Board, Lawrence County Extension Board and is a Kiwanis Club member. He is a member and deacon at Bedford First Christian Church.
