(OOLITIC) - A Bedford man was arrested after he violated a protective order Monday morning at a home in the 300 block of Lafayette Avenue in Oolitic.

According to Lawrence County Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults officers were called to the home after 34-year-old Daniel Smith entered the home uninvited in violation of the protective order.

"Smith then confronted the victim and made several threats towards her and the children," says Chief Deputy Shoults. "He then physically grabbed the woman by the face."

When police arrived Smith had left the home.

Police finally located Smith at his parent's home in the 2000 block of H Street where he was arrested without incident on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor, intimidation and invasion of privacy.
