Off-Road Vehicle Crash Claims Life Of Driver, Injures Child

(NASHVILLE) - An off-road vehicle crash claimed the life of a Fishers man and injured a child Saturday.

Indiana Conservation officers were called Marlett Road in Nashville at 10:30 a.m.

The accident killed 38-year-old Joseph Fenton who was operating a 2015 Yamaha Grizzle and injured a child passenger.

Fenton was traveling east in the 300 bock of Marlett Road in Nashville when he veered off the gravel road causing the vehicle to flip several times and land on its side.

Fenton and the child were tossed from the vehicle and found by a family member.

Fenton was pronounced dead at the scene. The child was lifelined to Riley Hospital for Children with a laceration to his head.

No safety equipment was worn by Fenton or the child.

Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor at this time.

Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet and other necessary safety equipment when operating any off road vehicle.

Other agencies that responded include: Brown County Sheriff's Department, Nashville Police Department, Nashville Fire and EMS and Lifeline.
