(BLOOMINGTON) - A motorcycle driver died in a Thursday afternoon crash on North Walnut Street, between North Old State Road 37 and Blue Ridge Drive.
Police and emergency crews were called to the scene just after 4 p.m.
The road was closed until around 7 p.m. while police investigated the accident.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams says a maroon car was traveling south and crossed the center line striking the northbound motorcycle.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
The driver of the car was taken to IU Health Hospital for a blood draw, which is protocol in a fatal accident.
