Police arrested 31-year-old Brooke Shelton on charges of aggravated battery resulting in serious bodily injury and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Police were called to the home at 2:16 a.m. after a report of a stabbing. When police arrived they found Lawsson bleeding on the front porch with several stab wounds to his abdomen, back and side.

Witnesses told police Shelton had stabbed Lawson.

Police found Shelton at the home. She had suffered a head injury and had blood on her face and clothing.

Shelton was then injured when Lawson punched her in the face in self defense.
