(BEDFORD) - Micheal Eaton, from Louisville, won the Limestone Capital Half Marathon for his third time with a time of 1:07:38.82.

"Today I was feeling really good and when I took off in the beginning I was like, 'I can maintain this pace' and I only dropped off a few seconds per mile at the end. Its a good sign and I was pleased with it," Eaton said.

Eaton ran at a pace of five minutes and ten seconds per mile.

Eaton has won the Limestone Capital Half Marathon three out of the four years the event has been in existence and is only one year short due to lack of attendance of the 3rd Annual Limestone Capital Half Marathon.

Eaton said he uses half marathons to test his fitness for full marathons he plans to compete in.

The first place award in the women's division was taken by Indiana native, Angi Mook from Terre Haute with a finishing time of 1:33:42.36.

"My plan was to come out and place and run hard. So I did both of those, so I am happy," said Mook.

Mook ran at a pace of seven minutes and nine seconds per mile.

"I really wanted to use this course to train on, because of the hills its a good strengthening run," said Mook.

Mook motivated herself during the race with her favorite singer, song writer Kesha.

Both first place winners took home a hefty cash prize, along with the other winners.

At the race were many helpful volunteers, including foreign exchange student, Luigi Massazza. He attends BNL and volunteered because he is very active himself and he thought the race was really nice and it was a requirement for school. Massazza is originally from Italy.

Massazza helped award Limestone Capital Half Marathon, 5K and 1 Mile Fitness Walk participants their medals.

"I really like here, it is a great place and I love my host family," said Massazza.
