(SALEM) - Local and area law enforcement officers and K-9 officers visited the West Washington School Campus Monday and conducted a walk through of the parking lots and the locker areas inside the school.
K-9 Officer Paul Ginkins, Chief Deputy Brent Miller and Deputy Joseph Keltner worked with school administrators to use police dogs to help make the campus a safer place for students.
The Washington County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Salem City Police K-9 Unit, Paoli City Police K-9 Unit and a Indiana State Police K-9 Unit.
"We are committed to working with our local school administrators to make our schools a safer place for the young people of Washington County," says Sheriff Roger Newlon.
K-9 Officer Paul Ginkins and his K-9 Leny recently returned to Eastern High School for a another morning workout. Ginkins and Leny worked inside the school, on the recent visit and were assisted by school administrators, Sheriff Roger Newlon, Chief Deputy Brent Miller, Pekin Town Marshal Jeff Thomas and Deputy Matt Hein.
