Jill Behrman Color The Campus 5K Saturday

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Jill Behrman Color The Campus 5K is Saturday.

This color run takes place around the Indiana University campus, starting and ending at the Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC) with a powder dance party.

Register for the event at this link. The cost is $35. On race day, the pre-registration area will open at 9:30 a.m. in the lobby of the SRSC.

Law Lane between Union And Jordan Avenue will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Traffic will disrupted around the campus from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Jill Behrman was an IU student and an employee of Recreational Sports. In May of 2000, Jill left for a solo bike ride and never came back. Three years later a hunter discovered her body and police determined she had been murdered.

In October 2000, the Jill Behrman Color The Campus 5K was created to keep the memory of Jill alive and to bring awareness to issues of violence in the community.

In addition to the Color the Campus Walk/Run, workshops related to assault prevention and will be offered throughout the year.

Proceeds benefit the Jill Behrman Emerging Leader Scholarship, personal safety workshops, and Campus Recreational Sports programs for IUB students.
