(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man and his wife were arrested after police say they found a closet in a bedroom of the home had been turned into a lockable cage.

Police allege that 57-year-old Alan Friz would lock his child inside the cage for extended periods of time.

Dubois County deputies not only arrested Friz, but 24-year-old Kenneth Le Fevre, after being called to the home at 5275 West County Road 700 S at 10:40 a.m. about a juvenile being out of control.

When deputies arrived they spoke with the juvenile. After interviews with police and a case worker from the Dubois County office of Family and Children Services authorities requested a search warrant for the home.

Police arrested Friz, who is a dentist, on a Level 5 felony charge of neglect of a dependent and a Level 6 felony charge of criminal confinement. His wife Aimee Friz was arrested later that day. His wife is facing the same charges. Both are being held without bond.

Authorities are still compiling information in the case and more charges are likely.

Police returned to the home around 5 p.m. to execute the search warrant.

While searching the home, a man identified as Kenneth Le Fevre, arrived on the scene and told police he rented a room at the home.

Fevre became belligerent and was asked to leave the property. He refused and continued to be uncooperative and had to be physically removed by deputies. Le Fevre was arrested on a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement. He is being held in the Dubois County Jail on $500 cash bond.

During a search of the home, police found the closet that had been turned into a lockable cage and other evidence.

While transporting Friz to a court appearance later that afternoon, authorities said they took his wife, Aimee Friz, into custody.
