Last updated on Monday, October 2, 2017

(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man was severely injured and is facing charges of neglect, reckless driving and operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a crash north of the Huntingburg Conservation Club on Friday afternoon.

Police say 25-year-old Sean Conway was drunk and had his two children in his 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he crashed at 5:45 p.m.

Police say Conway was traveling south, just north of the conservation club when he crested a hill, lost control of the car and ran off the east side of the road. The car struck a tree, turned 180 degrees before stopping facing north. Police say Conway was traveling at least 65 miles per hour on the county road when he crashed. His blood alcohol content was .095 percent.

Conway suffered a severe back injury and was transported to St. Vincent Evansville Hospital for treatment.

His passengers Kristen Earley and two children ages five and four years-old were not injured in the crash.
