Destination Depot On Saturday To Raise Funds For Becky's Place

(BEDFORD) - There is still time to purchase tickets for Destination Depot is a fundraising event for Becky’s Place, a shelter for homeless women and children in Lawrence County.

The event will be Saturday, Oct. 21st from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Corrina Hayes, program director of Becky's Place, will speak at the event to share stories from Becky's Place residents.
There will be a live and silent auction. Dress is business casual.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchase on-line at or at Bedford Federal Savings Bank, the WBIW/WQRK/WPHZ stations on Heltonville Road or the Chamber of Commerce on 16th Street.

Sponsor $500 includes 8 tickets, $250 includes 4 tickets.

"All the money will be used for general operations including helping residence with getting their birth certificates, social security cards, helping with insurance, helping with getting doctors appointments, work clothes, food, utilities to run the shelter and other service," Hayes added. "This list could go on and on."

The shelter is always in need of donations - toiletries, cleaning supplies, trash bags, any hygiene products, towels and twin size bedding.

"We are always encouraging gift cards as well because of having residents that come in that are needing something specific and we can use gift cards throughout the whole year. Gift cards for Walmart, JayC Plus or gas cards."

And reminders when you buy a piece of pie at Papa's restaurant every Thursday all proceeds go to Becky's Place.
Bedford Ford Lincoln Quick Lane is offering a $1 donation for every oil change for the entire month.

On November 6th Buffalo Wings & Rings will host another service day for Becky's Place which means a percentage of what they make the whole day will be donated to Becky's Place.

"We couldn't do this without the support of this community and the business managers and owners," Hayes added. "Thank you."
