City of Bloomington Requests Submissions For Minority And Women-Owned Business Directory

Last updated on Wednesday, October 11, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Safe and Civil City Program is now accepting submissions for the updated Minority and Women-Owned Business Directory.

The first edition of the directory was published in January 2015 to highlight Bloomington area businesses owned by minorities and women. According to the 2012 U.S. Census Survey of Business Owners, Bloomington is home to more than 600 minority-owned businesses and more than 1,800 female-owned businesses. The publication of this directory enables consumers and community members to locate and support these businesses.

"We are proud of our minority and women-owned businesses here in Bloomington and excited to see them get established, grow, and create economic opportunity for their employees and the city. We find many people are interested in supporting minority and women-owned businesses specifically, and this directory enables potential customers to locate these vendors quickly and easily, " said Alex Crowley, Director of Economic & Sustainable Development for the City of Bloomington.

For inclusion in the updated directory, business owners will need to submit the Minority and Women-Owned Business Submission Form by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15. The form is available at available at bloomington.in.gov/safe..
