Bloomington Man Injured After Crash On State Road 37 And Washboard Road

(BEDFORD) - A Bloomington man was injured after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon at State Road 37 and Washboard Road.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 28-year-old Curtis Rinehart was traveling south on State Road 37 in a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee when a 2006 Ford Focus driven by 56-year-old Annetta Landreth of Springville, who was east on Washboard Road, pulled into his path of travel.

Landreth told police she stopped at the stop sign on Washboard Road and pulled into the path Rinehart's Jeep saying she didn't see the vehicle.

Rinehart's Jeep sustained heavy front end damage. Landreth's car had heavy damage to the driver's side rear. She had to be freed from her vehicle by firefighters.

Rinehart suffered a laceration to his arm. Landreth complained of pain to her left shoulder and suffered lacerations to her face and head. He was taken by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.

Rinehart was treated at the scene.

Assisting at the scene was the Bedford Fire Department extrication unit, Oolitic and Marshall Volunteer Fire Departments and an AMR ambulance.
