(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after his pregnant girl friend called police Friday saying he injured her.

Bedford police were called to the 1300 block of Oak Street after a 17-year-old pregnant female called saying 18-year-old Logan Tipton of Bedford had pushed her and kicked her in the stomach after a verbal fight.

The woman told police she and Tipton had gotten into a verbal spat that turned physical and that Tipton was now asleep in the home.

When officers arrived at 5:45 p.m. they found Tipton asleep in a bedroom.

"Officers woke up Mr. Tipton and arrested him without incident on a charge of battery on a pregnant female after the victim signed a battery affidavit," says Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley.

Chief Parsley says the teen and her father signed a medical release form and did not seek medical attention.
