(LOOGOOTEE) - West Boggs Park is looking to add a new playground and zipline near the beach by next Spring.
As part of the park's new five-year master plan, park officials are partnering with Burke Playground.
Officials say the playground is geared for children ages 2-12 year-old. Mulch surfacing surrounded by a border will provide a safety measure for those playing on the new playground. A new 75-foot ziplinew ill also be installed.
To help raise money for its new playground, West Boggs Park and West Boggs Park Foundation are hosting a Benefit Luncheon and Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser event on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be a BBQ lunch by Happy Matt's Barbeque and fresh baked desserts provided by Tri Kappa of Shoals.
Lunch will consist of an entrée, side dish, dessert item and a drink of choice for $6 per adult and $4 per child.
There will also be music, K-9 demonstrations, Sparky from the Loogootee Fire Department and a chance to win prizes in a raffle drawing.
A variety of trucks and equipment ranging from fire engines and bulldozers to semi-trucks, tractors and a helicopter will be onsite for children of all ages to explore.
All proceeds from this event will go toward the playground.
Officials are also looking for sponsorships for the playground.
Title Sponsorship
To be named a title sponsor, the goal is to reach the $75,000 mark. Splitting this amount with another entity at $37,500 each would allow for Title Co-sponsorship.
Platinum Sponsorship
Platinum sponsorship is contributing between $15,000 and $24,999. There are only 4 Platinum Sponsorships available.
Gold Sponsorships
This is limited to six contributing between $9,000 and $14,999. To be considered a silver sponsor, one must give between $4,000 and $8,999, which will be limited to 15 sponsors. The bronze donation level is $1,000 and $2,999 and these sponsorships are unlimited.
Friends Of The Playground Sponsorships
"Friends of the playground," is for anyone or organization giving between $250 and $999.
All title, platinum and gold sponsors will have names and logos listed on all signs and publications concerning the playground. They will be eligible for park passes, camping vouchers and free facility use, depending on donation amounts.
Silver and bronze donors will get the same opportunities, without logos.
Friend of the playground, your name will be listed with the amount of your contribution on all signs and publications about the playground.
