Persimmon Festival Queen Crowned, Tuesday's Events At The Festival

(MITCHELL) - Sarah Bredeweg was crowned last night as the 2017 Persimmon Festival Queen.

Bregeweg said that, "this is my first pageant and I'm just surprised I won!"

The new queen said that she will take away everything she learned from the interview and speaking parts of the pageant.

Along with the Queen, six princesses were named including Morgan Taylor, Hanna Pugh, Madeleine Powell, Emily Dalton, Kallie Dalheim and Caroline Mundy.

Trenady Shaw was voted Miss Congeniality by her peers in the contest.

The 2017 Junior Miss was crowned, also. Briley Dicks took her crown just after her four princesses were named. Dicks' court are Angeleigh Arroyo-Asbury, Talyor Lee, Dacey Axom and Alexandria Brown.

Shelby Maple was chosen by her peers as Miss Congeniality.

The 2017 Little Miss was Olivia Keith. Keith's court includes Dakota Potter, Karsyn Coleman, Ellie Maple, Braelyn Little, Kylee Robbins and Miley Teague.

Braelyn Little was awarded a position as princess and was also voted Miss Congeniality.

Finally, the 2017 Mini Miss was Ava Colglazier. Kenlyn Craig, Brylee Holguin, Farrah Bailey, Lilly McCracken, Keristen Ray and Serenity Roach were named on the Princess Court for the 2017 Mini Miss Competition.

Today at the Persimmon Festival there will be pork dinner at the Seventh Street Food Tent starting at 4:30 and the Carnival rides will resume at 5 p.m.

On the Main St. Street Stage at 6:00 p.m.will be the Mitchell Varsity Singers followed by the Mitchell Junior High Dance team at 6:20 p.m. Then shortly after, the Mitchell Dance Team will take the Main St. Stage at 6:40 p.m.

Starting at 7 p.m. the WUME Lip Sync competition will be begin. Registration for the Lip Sync Competition will be at 5 p.m

Then finally at 8:30 p.m., The Wray Brothers will take Main St. Stage to wrap up the night.
