Penny Strong Benefit Ride To Take Place On September 30

Last updated on Tuesday, September 5, 2017

(BEDFORD) - Penny Clark was recently diagnosed with Grade 1 Stage 2 invasive ductile carcinoma, metastic carcinoma with ER and PR positive after escaping a marriage filled with domestic violence.

"Because our divorce is not final, I pay all of our loans still, all our mutual loans, all our debt and am still trying to keep me and my four kids afloat," said Penny.

Penny recently left her career for medical leave in order to heal.

She has started Chemo treatments and will have to have a double masectomy and total hysterectomy. During the time of those procedures, the family will have no money coming in.

"I've been living pay check to pay check almost just because of that [divorce], so being off for what is presumably going to be a year. That's a little tough to swallow. How do I... how do I stay afloat?"

In order to help, organizers are putting together the Penny Strong Benefit Ride on September 30 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Bedford Boat Club. There will be an auction and door prizes.

For those who cannot attend there will be an online account for donations.
