Mitchell Police Department Has New Police Dog And Handler

(MITCHELL) - Ido, a 2-year-old Czechoslovakian German shepherd, will begin training with his new partner, Mitchell Police officer Shaun Cabral, on Oct. 2.

Ido will begin with three weeks interdiction school and then five weeks of patrol school. The two will begin patrolling as a team in December.

Cabral has been on the force for two years.

Ido, who cost $6,500, was purchased by the Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office using forfeiture money seized from individuals during arrests. They also purchased a cage for Ido at a cost of $2,400.
