Last updated on Friday, September 8, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is gearing up to hire plow truck drivers for winter operations.

A job fair for Bloomington area applicants is scheduled to take place Tuesday, Sept. 12th between noon and 4 p.m. at the Monroe County Opportunity facility located at The Warehouse, 1525 South Rogers Street.

Applicants should bring a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), resume and high school diploma (or equivalent) and current medical examiner's certificate. A drug test will be administered.

Successful applicants may choose full-time seasonal employment or on-call status. On-call drivers will work only during snow/ice events - patrolling and plowing state highways and interstates in the area. Although seasonal employees do not receive state benefits, both full-time and on-call drivers are eligible for overtime pay.
