Last updated on Friday, September 29, 2017

(BEDFORD) - A Huron man was arrested Sunday after police say he injured a woman during a domestic fight.

Lawrence County Police officers arrested 33-year-old Mark Richard Jr. on a charge of domestic battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal confinement and possession of a controlled substance.

According to a Lawrence County Superior I affidavit, police were called to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital after a woman went to the hospital for treatment.

The woman told police her ex-boyfriend Richard had injured her during a domestic fight at his parent's house on State Road 60 East.

She told police Richard became angry and slapped her on the left side of the face. She left the home and he followed and slapped her again. She says Richard then grabbed her, slinging into a wooden post where she hit her head and then grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back into the house. Richard then let her go and she fled the home and got into her vehicle and called her aunt. They then went to the emergency room.

Police says the woman had visible injuries to both sides of her face.

Officers went to Richard's home and arrested him. During the arrest, police also found two amphetamine pills in his front pocket. He posted a $755 cash bond and was released Monday.
