Help Keep Cell Phones Working In Florida By Texting

Last updated on Saturday, September 9, 2017

(UNDATED) - Help keep cell phones working in Florida by Texting.

"Help keep the cellular telephone networks less burdened by texting your relatives and friends in Florida ." So requested Roger Axe, Director of Greene County Emergency Management Agency. "Texting puts less stress on the cellular telephone networks. Already the system is overburden in Florida with the mandatory evacuations and hurricane preparations.

A collapsed cell phone network will hinder lifesaving efforts of emergency responders and could actually hurt those you care about. It will also hinder the recovery effort.

"People like to help; this is one thing you can do that really will make a difference." Axe said.
