Entries For Oolitic's Got Talent, Festival Pageant And Parade Available

(OOLITIC) - Organizers of the the Oolitic Festival are seeking contestants for Oolitic's Got Talent, the Oolitic Festival pageant and parade.

The festival will be Oct. 21. This years theme is "Boolitic."

The parade is scheduled for 6 p.m., and entrants should follow the theme with either haunted or fall decorations. Entry forms are at Oolitic Town Hall on Main Street.

The festival pageant "Fall into Autumn Memories" is open to girls in kindergarten through high school. Entry forms, a $30 entry fee and wallet size photo are due by Friday at 4 p.m. Kindergarten - 2nd is Mini Miss, 3rd - 5th is Little Miss, 6th - 8th is Jr. Miss and 9th -12th is Queen. Forms are available at Oolitic Town Hall or by sending a request through Oolitic Festival pageant Facebook page. Girls will need an outfit that represents something that reminds them of fall.

Judging of the mini through junior miss divisions will be on Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Christian Church. The queen contest will take place Oct. 19 at the church at 6:30 p.m. Crowning of all winners will be Oct. 21st at 10 a.m. in Oolitic.

The queen will receive a $500 scholarship.

Registrations are also available for Oolitic's Got Talent. The contest is open to individuals, groups, dance teams or cheer groups. Acts will be separated into two divisions: youth (kids 17 and younger) and adults. The contest is free to enter. Preliminaries will be held Oct. 12 in the old gym at Oolitic with the winner selected on Oct. 21.
