Lawrence County Police Offer Free Crime Seminar Oct. 5

(BEDFORD) - Millions of people are victims of crime annually - don’t be one of them.

Safety experts agree the single most important step toward ensuring your personal safety is making the conscious decision to - Refuse To Be A Victim.

"You stand a much better chance of preventing criminal attack if you develop a safety plan before you need it," says Lawrence County Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. "That is why the Refuse To Be A Victim - crime prevention seminar was developed. It is a program of the National Rifle Association."

The seminar teaches easy-to-understand methods individuals can use to increase awareness and prevent criminal confrontation.

In just four hours, you will get the tools you need to develop your own personal safety strategy, including information about:

The crime prevention seminar will be held on October 5th from 5 p.m. until approximately 8 p.m. at the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Training Room.

There is no charge to attend and both men and women over the age of 18 are welcome to attend. Space is limited to 30.

You must pre-register for this seminar no later than September 28th.

Registration can be done via an e-mail to Chief Deputy Aaron T. Shoults (ashoults@lawrencecounty.in.gov). Please include your name, address and phone number. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail. Registration forms are also available at the front desk in the upstairs lobby of the jail and can be filled out in person.
