Bloomfield Apple Festival Kicks Off Friday, Oct. 6th, Queen Contest Sunday

(BLOOMFIELD) - Bloomfield Apple Festival kicks off Friday, Oct. 6.
Eight young ladies are vying for this year's queen title. The queen contest will begin at 4:30 p.m. this Sunday. There is a $2 admission, but this ticket will allow those attending to vote for the People's Choice Award.
The queen and her court will be officially presented at the kickoff of the Bloomfield Apple Festival, Friday, Oct. 6. The contestants and winners will be announced at 5 p.m. on the main stage, at which time the People's Choice winner will also be announced.
This year's contestants are:
- Jordan Proctor, a senior at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of Sunny and Chuck Proctor.
- Nicole Kilzer, a junior at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of Brandi Patton and Joel Kilzer.
- Shelby Woods, a senior at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of Kay and Michael Woods.
- Taylor Whitfield, a freshman at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of Renae Sullivan.
- Carolyn Kettler, a junior at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of Tabitha and Chuck Proctor.
- Grace Ganster, a senior at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of Andrew and Theresa Ganster.
- Deniece Biggerstaff, a freshman at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of David and Leah Biggerstaff
- Claire Sims, a junior at Bloomfield High School. She is the daughter of Tony and the late Heather Sims.
The 2017 Bloomfield Apple Festival will feature vendor booths, music, a carnival and a variety of events scheduled for both Friday and Saturday. The Bloomfield Apple Festival Parade will take place Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
