(MARTIN CO.) - A woman died Saturday morning after crashing her car into a tree off US 150.

According to a Martin County press release, Martin County Deputy Coroner Mark Franklin pronounced 47-year-old Lynette Lynch of Liverpool, New York dead at the scene.

At 6:11 a.m., Martin County police received a call from Orange County Sheriff's Department dispatch reporting an accident just inside the Martin County line on US 150, west of Panhandle Road.

Police say the accident remains under investigation but believe Lynch may have fallen asleep while driving. Lynch was traveling west on the highway and then drove down an embankment and collided with a tree.
