Woman Arrested After Causing Disturbance At Loogootee McDonald's

(LOOGOOTEE) - A Loogootee woman was arrested after causing a scene at the McDonald’s in Loogootee.

Police arrested 42-year-old Shawn M. Brown on charges of two felony counts of intimidation, possession of meth, trafficking with an inmate, maintaining a common nuisance and unlawful possession of a syringe and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Martin County Police were called to the restaurant just after 10 p.m. after a report that Brown was being disorderly and had threatened employees.

An employee told Martin County deputy Tyler Reed a female had arrived at the restaurant win a Chevrolet Trailblazer and enter the establishment and became disorderly, threatening the lives of employees

Police found Brown in the rear of the restaurant and she was arrested on charges of intimidation and disorderly conduct.

Loogootee Police Sergeant Rick Norris and Indiana State Police Trooper Andrew Beaver assisted at the scene.

Deputy Reed's canine partner Virka did a free-air sniff around Brown vehicle and alerted police to possible drugs inside.

During a search of the vehicle police found 15 syringes and a spoon that was covered with a white residue that tested positive for meth.

While being booked in at the Martin County Security Center, a jail officer conducted a search of Brown and found a plastic bag that contained a white crystal substance. When the jail officer attempted to alert another jail employee, about the find, Brown became agitated and approached the jail officer in an aggressive manner.

Several other jail employees and Trooper Beaver intervened and ended the situation.

Police say the crystal substance tested positive for meth.
