Vendors Needed For 6th Annual BucCornEar Festival

(HELMSBURG) - Jackson Township Fire Department is now accepting applications for vendors for the 6th Annual BucCornEar Festival on Saturday, September 23.

The event is held at the Jackson Township fire station at 4831 Helmsburg Road, Helmsburg from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The event will kick off with a biscuit and gravy breakfast from 8 a.m., games and activities beginning at 10 a.m.

The festival is a full day of family fun laced with educational activities for kids of all ages.

Vendors can include:crafts, home based businesses, business, volunteer group, activity provider, service organizations (No Food Vendors permitted).

The booth fee for 10'x10 space is only $20 and non-profits and community organizations can set up for free.

The BucCornEar festival is a fun filled family event celebrating all things pirate, popcorn and fire prevention. Put on your best pirate outfit for the day and enjoy carnival games and activities which include "The Bucket Brigade", "The Gauntlet", Popcorn Eating and Shucking Challenges. There will be a "Live House Burn" and Fire Truck and Hose Challenges.

Also available throughout the festival will be meet and greet photo opportunities with Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog. Members of the Jackson Township Fire Crew will be on hand dressed in their best BucCornEar attire.

Admission to the event is FREE. There is a small charge for games and challenges. Food will be available in the galley for purchase.

The JTFD is an all-volunteer organization. Money raised from this event will help the department with community educational programs and training.

If you would like to volunteer there will be a training session on Wednesday, Sept. 20th at 6 p.m. If you cannot attend training, please let one of the JTFD members know. Volunteers are asked to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to scheduled time. Bottle water will be provided to all volunteers at no charge. Officials ask that volunteers wear a pirate costume or T-shirt with your organization logo. If you cannot fulfill your shift, please let a member of JTFD know as soon as possible so you spot can be filled. Volunteers who work more than a 6 hour shift will receive a meal ticket for one basic food item, a side dish and drink.
