(BEDFORD) - Two Bedford fugitives were arrested on Wednesday afternoon.

Indiana State Police Bloomington Troopers and the US Marshal's Task Force armed with a warrant went to a home on Old State Road 450 looking for 46-year-old Bradley Crawford.

Crawford was wanted on two felony warrants, one out of Greene County for dealing meth and one out of Monroe County for possession of meth.

Sgt. Greg Day, Trooper Caleb Garvin, Trp. Riley Nungester, ISP Detectives, the US Marshal's Task Force and Indiana State Police SWAT Personnel all assisted at the residence to execute the search warrant.

When police arrived, two males were standing in front of the residence and immediately ran.

Officers quickly apprehended the first male, Crawford, after a short foot pursuit. Crawford was found in possession of a meth pipe.

The second male climbed down a steep embankment, ignoring repeated commands to surrender. The male then entered Salt Creek, which runs directly behind the residence.

After numerous commands to do so, the male eventually swam to shore where he was taken into custody by officers who were already in position on the other side of the creek.

The second male who had entered the creek initially gave officers a false name, which turned out to be the name of his brother. Further investigation revealed the second male was 29-year-old James Deckard of Bedford. Deckard was wanted on a Monroe County warrant for a probation violation.

Both males were arrested and incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail.
