Seymour Police Save Toddler From Swimming Pool

Last updated on Wednesday, August 16, 2017

(SEYMOUR) - Seymour Police officers revived a toddler who fell into a swimming pool on Sunday.

The incident happened at about 8 p.m. Sunday when officers were on another call and heard a woman screaming a few doors away.

They responded to the home finding a 1-year-old child not breathing.

Officers learned other children had been playing behind the residence and the back door had been inadvertently left open allowing the toddler to exit the home and fall into a small above ground pool.

The child was not breathing. Sgt. Brandon White began CPR while Officer Seth Sage drove them to Schneck Medical Center.

At last report the child involved was said to be in stable condition and had been transferred to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis for continued care.
