Last updated on Saturday, August 19, 2017

(LINTON) - Linton Police Chief Tony Jerrell feels confident they have discovered the name of the person who robed the BloomBank in Linton Friday.

A bald white man wearing a blue shirt reportedly robbed the BloomBank, at 1450 A Street Northeast, around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

"We are not releasing that information at this time, however we have discovered and confirmed the vehicle, a grey 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, the robber was driving was stolen from Portland, Indiana," he added.

Anyone spotting this vehicle with a blue and white Indiana plate # 53283E is advised to use caution and contact authorities immediately.

"Through our investigation and witness accounts it has been confirmed the suspect had been inside at least one other bank in Linton prior to the robbery at BloomBank," Chief Jerrells says. "We have sent all pertinent information to the FBI and State Police for them to be on the lookout for the vehicle and use caution if located. We have no information at this time if the suspect is armed, however it cannot be ruled out neither. We also believe he is no longer in this area but again have no confirmation of that as well.

The investigation is still ongoing.

"We will release further information and keep citizens updated as the case comes closer to a conclusion and closing," he added.

Anyone with information can call the Linton Police Department at 812-847-4411.
