(JASONVILLE) - A memorial run/walk in memory of Layla Raines will take place at Shakamak Jr/Sr High School on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The 5K, hosted by the family of Layla Raines costs $20 in advance and $25 on race day. The proceeds will benefit the Layla Raines Memorial Scholarship fund.
15-year-old Layla Raines of Jasonville died in May after she was struck by a vehicle while running into the road on State Road 246 to retrieve a ball.
Age groups for the fundraiser are under 12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and over 70.
There will be a male and female winner in each age group. The winners will receive a package of forget-me-not flowers to plant in memory of a loved one.
Registrations can be mailed to Micki Strunk at 194 Concord Rd in Spencer, IN (47460).
