(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man was arrested after he allegedly held a woman against her will and injured her on Thursday evening.

Police were called to the Oak Ridge Apartments at about 7:30 p.m.

The woman told police she had been at the home of 24-year-old Andrew Burch in the 600 block of North Washington St. where he refused to let her leave and had injured her and placed his hands around her neck as well as attempting to sexually assault her before she finally escaped.

Police say that when they arrived at Oak Ridge Apartments, Burch saw them and took off running. Police caught him in the parking lot of the Church of Christ on North Chestnut Street and he was arrested.

Burch is facing felony charges of criminal confinement with bodily injury, strangulation and attempted sexual battery and a Class A misdemeanor count of battery causing bodily injury.

Burch was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
