(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council is preparing for hearings for its 2018 budget cycle.
Beginning tonight county department heads will go before the council to discuss proposed changes to their annual budgets.
Budget hearings will be held in the Commissioners Room of the Lawrence County Courthouse. An executive session may be held prior to or after each hearing.

Hearings are also scheduled for Tuesday, August 29 and September 5.
There will be a run thru on the overall budget on Thursday Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. and a final run thru on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. at that time the council will also adopt the Solid Waste budget.
The adoption of the approved budget is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 26 after the regular council meeting.
