(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man was arrested after his vehicle was found stuck on the railroad tracks on Friday afternoon on 12th Street.
Police arrested 34-year-old Justin Taylor after police realized he was intoxicated and located more than 20 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Police say Taylor was traveling north on Styline Drive just before 4 p.m. Friday and was attempting to make a right turn on 12th Street when he failed to complete the turn. His 1996 Chevrolet Blazer went over the curb, down an embankment and got stuck on the railroad tracks.
When Officer Rusty Drew arrived they could smell the distinct odor of marijuana from inside the SUV.
Taylor was given a field sobriety test which he failed.
After receiving consent to search the SUV police found Schedule I, II and III narcotics, 23 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and other legend drugs as well as packaging materials to sell the drug.
Taylor was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, dealing in a Schedule I, II and III controlled substances, possession of legend drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After receiving medical clearance at Memorial Hospital, Taylor was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
