(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man was arrested after police say he injured a toddler.

Huntingburg police arrested 21-year-old Gage LeMay of Huntingburg on a Level 6 felony charge of Battery on a child 14-years-old or younger.

Police were called to an area near the Huck's Convenience Store at about 6:30 p.m. Monday. Officers located a two-year-old child near 5th and Jackson streets.

During their investigation police were told the child's injuries were sustained from falling.

The child was transported to Memorial Hospital and hospital personnel and police determined that the injuries were consistent with the child being beaten and LeMay was arrested.
