(INDIANAPOLIS) - Former IU football star Antonio Allen was arrested on Tuesday on a probation violation.

Allen was arrested on a warrant after his probation officer in Bloomington discovered he had moved without notification, failed to complete his community corrections work and was accused of lying to the probation department.

According to Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Teresa Harper issued a warrant for Allen's arrest Thursday after his probation officer filed court documents stating 22-year-old Allen "is a danger to the community. The defendant's violations of the court's orders show instability and disdain for the court's authority."

He was arrested at his workplace on the northside of Indianapolis at 3:30 p.m. Police found Allen with a loaded .22-caliber handgun in his pants. He is being held in the Monroe County jail without bond.

Police say Allen tried to pull away as officers took him from the store where he worked, leading to a struggle.

He is also facing charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and resisting arrest.

In June 2016, Judge Harper gave Allen a break when she sentenced the former IU football defensive to four years on house arrest, instead of prison, for selling heroin and meth.

Harper sentenced Allen to 10 years in prison for dealing heroin and eight years for dealing methamphetamine, suspending the prison time. She put Allen on house arrest for four years and ordered 100 hours of community service work. He was allowed to leave home for work.
