Demolition Of Former JC Penney Building Delayed Due To Rain

(BEDFORD) - Demolition of the former JC Penney building at the corner of 15th and J streets has been postponed due to the threat of storms today.

Work will begin Wednesday night.

The site will be home to the StoneGate Arts & Education Center, which is part of the city's Stellar projects.

Demolition will begin at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday through Friday so there will be minimal impact to downtown businesses.

Construction on the $4.4 million building is expected to take 11 months.
