Last updated on Wednesday, August 16, 2017

(JACKSON CO.) - Indiana Department of Transportation closed C.R. 975 West this morning at its juncture with US 50 in western Jackson County to make way for construction of a traffic runaround for the east-west highway at a bridge replacement site.

INDOT officials contacted the resident on County Road 975 West regarding this two- to three-week closure. Alternate access should minimize inconvenience to the property owner.

Force Construction of Columbus is the state's contractor for this $3.4 million bridge and small structure replacement project that will construct a single-span 90-foot-long concrete bridge on US 50 over Clear Spring Creek - located 3.35 miles west of State Road 235. A nearby drainage structure will also be removed and replaced.

The runaround will allow continuous traffic flow on US 50 during while crews remove and replace the Clear Spring Creek bridge.

US 50's traffic count at the site is 4080 vehicles per day.
