(VALLONIA) - A 33-year-old Brownstown man is faces charges after police say he rammed his ex-girlfriend's vehicle five or six times Friday as she and their 7-year-old daughter were traveling south of Vallonia.

Police arrested Matthew Ray Wingler on charges of criminal reckless with a deadly weapon (a vehicle), neglect of a dependent, domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless driving.

According to Jackson County Police, the incident began at 5:22 p.m. after Wingler's ex-girlfriend reported Wingler was ramming her sport utility vehicle with his Dodge pickup in the 2000 block of South State Road 135.

The woman told police she was driving south and had slowed for a vehicle in front of her turning left toward Starve Hollow State Recreation Area. That is when Wingler allegedly began ramming her vehicle. She told police her vehicle was rammed five or six times before she was able to find a safe place to pull off the roadway.

Wingler fled the scene, but the woman was able to give police an address where Wingler was possibly living.

Neither the woman nor the child were injured during the incident but both were visibly upset.

Police located Wingler at a home on East Walnut Street in Brownstown. Wingler denied he was involved, but police found damage and paint from the woman's vehicle on the bumper of Wingler's truck.
