Last updated on Wednesday, August 23, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was injured in an accident that closed westbound lanes of the 45/46 bypass on State Road 37 Monday afternoon that closed part of the highway for around 4 hours.

According to a Bloomington Police report, 61-year-old Steven Wood of Marion, KY was traveling east on State Road 46 in a 2012 Freightliner and was attempting to turn left to go north on State Road 37. Police say Wood turned into the path of a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala driven by 23-year-old Jamie Kelly Jr.

Firefighters freed Kelly from the wreckage. He was taken by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
