(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested after police say she stiffed her drug dealer and then ran him over with her vehicle on Tuesday morning.

Bloomington Police arrested 21-year-old Julia Wanchic on charges of robbery and leaving the scene of an accident. She is being held on a $30,500 cash bond.

According to police, Wanchic and another female called the man at 1 a.m. Tuesday wanting to purchase meth. They arranged to meet in the parking lot of Sweet Grass Restaurant at the corner of West Patterson Drive and South Rogers Street.

Police say the dealer leaned into the car window to make the exchange and that is when Wanchic says she decided to rip the dealer off and accelerate from the scene.

The man, who police are not identifying, held onto the car door of 2005 Ford Explorer and was dragged until he fell on South Madison Street and was then run over.

Wanchic fled the scene and her female passenger got out of the vehicle and ran to the 26-year-old victim. He was taken by ambulance to Bloomington Hospital and then transferred to Methodist Hospital.

Police say the man suffered a ruptured spleen, a laceration to his liver, broken collarbone and bruising to his ribs and both of his lungs collapsed.

Police arrested Wanchic around 7 a.m. at her home in the 300 block of West Hillside Drive.

No charges at this time have been filed against the male or the female passenger.
