Accident Claims Life Of Bedford Man

(BEDFORD) - A motorcycle accident at M and 22nd streets on Thursday morning claimed the life of a Bedford man.

According to a Bedford Police report, 54-year-old Thomas Bertolino of Bedford was traveling north on Mitchell Road in the right lane on his 2004 Honda VT1100 when he attempted to negotiate the curve on the wet roadways and lost control of his motorcycle which caused the bike to hit the curb on the right side of the roadway.

The motorcycle left the roadway, causing Bertolino to be thrown from the bike. The force caused his helmet to fly off.

Bertolino struck his head causing massive head trauma.

Assisting at the scene was the Bedford Fire Department and IU Health Hospital.
