(BEDFORD) - Although no longer with us, Ralph "Butch" Fish was awarded a new award presented at the Bedford Chamber's 101st Annual Dinner where IU President Michael McRobbie was the Keynote speaker.

Butch's daughter and son accepted the Life-Time Achievement Award for their father.

Mayor Shawna Girgis teared up as she spoke of the many projects Butch completed. He worked at General Motors for 40 years of his life, but is most known for his contributions to the community.

The Lawrence County Court House was awarded the Business Beautification Award. This award recognized the investments that the Lawrence County Court House put into the revitalization of the court house.

"This property has really been the focal point of our community," said Shance Sizemore, CEO of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce and of the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council, as he announced the winner of the Beautification Award.

The third award of the evening was the Community Service Award.

"The Community Service Award has always been the highlight of the night for our Chamber and really shows the dedication and commitment to our community," Sizemore said.

"There are few people in this world who brighten up everyone's day, but this recipient does. There are few people that are as caring as he is. There are few people that are loved by their community as this man is..." Sizemore continued.

Steve Warren took home the 2017 Community Service Award.

"I love you guys, you know that. I love Bedford so much. You guys are just my best friends in the whole world.," Said Warren.

He then went on to commemorate his good buddy, Butch Fish.
