Woman's Body Recovered From Cataract Falls

(SPENCER) - Indiana Conservation Officers have recovered the body of a 61-year-old woman at the Upper Falls in Cataract State Recreation Area after she reportedly fell into the water at the bottom of the falls.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld until notifications can be made to the family.

Indiana Conservation Officers and multiple agencies responded to the scene after a 911 call to Owen County Sheriff's Department at 1:30 p.m.

Indiana Conservation Officers are conducting an investigation on the incident and an autopsy is being scheduled.

Other responding agencies included: Owen County Sheriff's Department, Owen County Water Rescue, Cloverdale Fire Department, and Owen County Ambulance Service.
