(BEDFORD) - Two Bedford men were arrested after police stopped their vehicle on a traffic violation and found meth.

Lawrence County Police arrested 21-year-old Dylan Todd of Bedford and 25-year-old Jordan Taylor of Bedford on charges of possession of less than 1 gram of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe and maintaining a common nuisance.

According to Sheriff Mike Branham, at 10:24 a.m., officers with the Lawrence County Drug Task Force pulled over a Ford Ranger that left a home that was under surveillance for possible drug activity.

The officers pulled the truck over for suspicion of false registration, failure to signal a turn and for having a broken windshield.

When officers spoke to Taylor and Todd they were acting very nervous, says Sheriff Branham.

The officers requested a police canine to the scene. The dog alerted police to the possibility of drugs in the truck.

During a search of the truck officers found used and unused syringes, a cook spoon that field-tested positive for meth residue and four small packages that contained a crystal substance that also field-tested positive for meth.

Todd is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on a bond of $7,500 surety, or $755 cash. Taylor is being held without bond because he was out on bond at the time of this arrest.
