Last updated on Tuesday, July 11, 2017

(DAVIESS CO.) - Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill says his office has recovered more than $445,000 on behalf of the Indiana Department of Transportation following a 2015 accident on Interstate 69 in Daviess County.

That is the total cost of damages stemming from the accident. Hill says the settlement was reached without filing a lawsuit or the cost of additional litigation.

In November 2015, a semi carrying an excavator on its trailer was headed southbound on I-69 near Cornettsville in Daviess County when the excavator struck the overpass bridge at County Road 450 East.

The excavator which was improperly loaded and the impact from the accident caused structural damage to the bridge. The bridge has since been repaired.
