(BEDFORD) - Beginning Monday, July 17th Sandpit Road from Mitchell Road to the railroad tracks will be closed to rehabilitate Bridge 133.
Crews from CLR will be replacing the deck on the bridge that spans Leatherwood Creek. The company submitted the lowest bid at $262,000.
"It is anticipated to take about 60 days to complete this project but could be as long as 90 days," says Lawrence County Highway Superintendent David Holmes. "Every effort will be made to get this done as quickly as possible as we know it will pose as a burden to our county residents that live along Sandpit Road and to those that use the transfer station."
Holmes says South I Street will see much more traffic due to this road being closed.
"So we ask that everyone use extra caution when traveling these roads," he added.
