(PEKIN) - Three juveniles are facing criminal charges after police say they broke into several businesses in the Pekin area.

The investigation began on May 29, when Washington County Deputy Wayne Blevins was called to J&R Liquor Store about a burglary.

On May 30, Indiana State Police Trooper Tom Basham responded to Teena's Pizza, also in Pekin, about a burglary.

Deputy Blevins began a joint investigation with Trooper Basham and Pekin Town Marshal Jeff Thomas. The officers reviewed video surveillance and spoke with witnesses and as a result, they were able to identify three juvenile suspects.

Deputy Brent Miller interviewed two of the juveniles who were cooperative and admitted to their involvement in the two burglaries.

The juveniles also admitted to being involved in a burglary at the old Newlon's Grocery Store and being present when a window was broken at the East Washington Elementary School.

Trooper Basham interviewed a third juvenile, who was cooperative and admitted to his involvement as well.

The officers have forwarded their findings to the Washington County Probation Department and the juvenile court system.
